Russia confirmed 6,556 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, raising its total number of infections to 654,405, its coronavirus response center said in a statement on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.
The death toll grew by 216 to 9,536, while 422,931 people have recovered, including 10,281 over the last 24 hours, according to the statement.
Moscow, the country's worst-hit region, reported 611 new cases, taking its caseload to 222,209.
