Apple is reportedly working on a new “internet-connected home” that would integrate its Siri-powered home automation system with Apple TV, the company’s new smart TV, and other devices.
The Verge reports that Apple has been working on the next-generation Apple TV platform since at least 2017, when Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed that he’d be putting his focus on developing the “next Apple TV” and Apple TV Stick.
A report from The Verge said that Cook told investors that Apple would release a “next-generation smart TV” this year.
Cook also said that Apple’s new “smart TV” would be a “world-class product,” adding that it would be the next “Apple TV.”
Apple has been rumored to be working on something similar for some time, with reports of its Siri TV system and the upcoming Siri TV Stick, both of which were first revealed in 2017.
