Axios users can now share and buy dark web products from the Amazon and Ebay marketplaces.
The new listings are available in both Spanish and English, and feature many products with a price tag of up to $500.
The listings were announced on Monday by the Amazon marketplace’s director of public policy, Jonathan Vickers, and the seller on Ebay’s site, sellerdaddy.com.
The listings are not the first to offer such discounts.
In September, Amazon announced that it would also offer the dark web as a way to make buying on the site easier, a move that has raised questions about how the company plans to control its marketplace.
Amazon and eBay also recently introduced an option to purchase products through third-party retailers, such as Best Buy, but the move was only available to Amazon sellers and only for a limited time.
The companies also announced that they will no longer allow sellers to sell goods from third-parties to Amazon.
The dark web has been largely a place for illicit and illegal activity for years, but these listings are the first time sellers can sell products directly to Amazon buyers and sellers will be able to buy products with multiple payment methods.
The prices of the listings are listed in both English and Spanish.
Vickers and Ebays director of customer strategy, Scott Fisk, said in a statement that Amazon is the largest dark web marketplace with nearly 40 million active buyers and a user base of more than 150 million people.
Amazon is working with third- parties to improve the way that dark web sellers can offer their products, Vickers said.
He said that Amazon will continue to work with the third-parts sellers to make sure that their products are available to buyers in the marketplace, and he added that the company will be working with Ebay to further increase the availability of dark web product listings.
“We want to make it easier for our users to find and buy goods, and it’s an exciting time for us,” Fisk said.
“We’re looking forward to seeing what else is out there.”
In the past, Amazon has said it will take steps to help the dark-web market to grow.
In December, the company announced it was creating a team dedicated to helping dark-market sellers.
The team will work to identify and address the concerns of third-tier sellers and make the dark marketplace more accessible to buyers.
The company also announced in May that it will offer additional support to dark web markets in 2017.
In the first quarter of 2017, Amazon will make it harder for dark-selling sites to sell their products on the marketplace.
In a statement, Vicks said Amazon was working to “improve the transparency of our dark market marketplace and to make dark marketplace listings more accessible.”
Vickers said that the dark market has the potential to “provide new opportunities for online retailing and commerce.”
